“We had Garden Lights Landscape our back yard this past fall. We had seen their work around Orinda, and were impressed with the results. We also knew someone who had used the company and whose yard has been featured in local garden tours. We had never had landscaping done before. The existing landscaping was done more than 20 years ago, was dated, and did not utilize the property to its advantage. The yard was divided into three quadrants, which made it feel small and closed off. We also had drainage issues. We wanted a turnkey operation. We wanted the design, demolition, and new landscaping supervised by one person who would coordinate everything. From the very beginning, Steve was attentive to our wishes and our budget. Joan came up with a novel design that added usable space to our sloped yard. We wanted the yard to feel open and inviting, yet also feel like a refuge. And we wanted a water feature.
The results are magnificent. It’s hard to describe the transformation, but our yard now seems huge. With the waterfall, it feels like a little piece of the Truckee River runs through our property. The two-toned patio is gorgeous and functional. And the raised planters with irrigation will make our vegetable garden so much easier to plant and maintain. We have received so many compliments on our new yard from neighbors, friends, and family. And while the new yard sparkles on a pretty day, even on a gray dreary day it looks beautiful. “We have had the pleasure of working with Garden Lights in two different homes in Moraga. Our first home was brand new, and we were starting from bare dirt. Steve was able to plan a beautiful design that took the challenges of our irregular shaped lot and made them assets. In our current home, we had a number of drainage issues which required new hardscape.
The concrete pavers that Steve chose are stunning. Steve was able to use many of the existing plants in our landscape design giving us the feeling of an established garden. Now our yard is an oasis and great for entertaining. The quality of work and products was outstanding and Steve was very conscious of our budget. We couldn’t be happier!”
